Getting to the University of Warwick

Landed in the UK? Here's what to do next.

Whether you're arriving at London Heathrow or Birmingham Airport, this guide gets you to campus with the least stress.

🎓 Arriving 24–27 September 2026?

  • Warwick Welcome Helpers in purple uniforms are usually at Coventry Pool Meadow Bus Station, roughly 10:00–17:30.
  • They can point you to onward transport to campus and accommodation.

Where are you landing?

Step 2

Choose your transport

If you're landing at Heathrow.

⭐ Recommended

Option 1 — National Express coach

3–4.5 hours

The simplest public-transport option: one direct coach from your Heathrow terminal to Coventry Pool Meadow.

  1. T2 & T3 → “HEATHROW Airport London Central Bus Station for T2 & T3 (LHR)”
  2. T4 → “HEATHROW Airport London T4 (LHR)”
  3. T5 → “HEATHROW Airport London T5 (LHR)”
  4. Destination: COVENTRY Pool Meadow
  5. 12X / local bus or taxi → University of Warwick
  • Direct — no coach changes
  • Check your suitcase allowance and extra-bag charges before paying
  • Students can save with a National Express Coachcard

Option 2 — Train

Multiple changes

Fast but with several changes. You do NOT go from T2/T3 to T4 to catch a train — take the Elizabeth Line or Heathrow Express from your own terminal.

  1. Heathrow → Elizabeth Line / Heathrow Express
  2. London Paddington → Underground → London Euston
  3. Train to Coventry Railway Station
  4. 12X / local bus or taxi → University of Warwick
  • Book and store tickets in the Trainline app
  • Hard work with large suitcases

Option 3 — FlixBus coach

An alternative budget coach operator. Routes and drop-off points differ from National Express, so check where your ticket actually ends.

  • Often cheap advance fares
  • Confirm the Coventry stop on your ticket
  • Separate luggage rules — read before paying

Option 4 — Private taxi / transfer

Door-to-door from Heathrow. Tell your driver University of Warwick, Coventry — never “Coventry University”.

  • 2–3 large suitcases
  • Travelling with family
  • Late arrivals
  • Only use a licensed, pre-booked taxi or private hire
